Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and sugar.
Stir until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture is hot (but not boiling).
Add the fresh herbs and reduce the heat to low.
Let the mixture steep at a gentle simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool with the herbs still in the pot for another 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean glass jar (like this) or bottle.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze it for later use.
