If you’re looking for a cocktail that’s refreshing, fruity, and just a little bit sophisticated, the Earl Grey Blueberry Smash is it. This drink combines the citrusy, aromatic notes of Earl Grey tea with fresh blueberries and mint for a layered, complex flavor that feels both bright and elegant.
I grow mint and blueberries at home, so this was an easy one for me to make.
I also have Earl Grey tea on hand at all times. I can’t get enough of that bergamot flavor, and the tea tannins add depth to many of my cocktail creations.

Even if you don’t grow your own herbs and berries at home, you can quickly pick these up in a grocery store or at the farmers’ market for less than you would for one cocktail out on the town.
Whether you choose gin for its botanical backbone or vodka for a cleaner canvas, the result is a smash that feels perfect for warm-weather sipping, garden parties, or whenever you want to impress with something that looks as good as it tastes.

Twist Ideas
- Herbal Lift: Swap mint for basil or thyme for a different herbal profile.
- Sparkling Smash: Top with soda water for a fizzy, refreshing version.
- Berry Switch: Try blackberries or raspberries instead of blueberries.
- Bourbon Base: Replace gin/vodka with bourbon for a deeper, warmer cocktail in the fall and winter months.
Why You’ll Love It
- Tea with a Twist: Earl Grey syrup adds a sophisticated layer to the fruit and mint.
- Flexible Base Spirit: Works with gin for botanicals or vodka for a smoother, lighter profile.
- Fresh & Vibrant: Blueberries and mint make it refreshing without being overly sweet.
- Mocktail Friendly: Easy to adapt into a gorgeous non-alcoholic version.
