Pear Moscow Mule

Don’t ask me why, but I always seem to have a bottle of pear vodka tucked in the back of my liquor cabinet. You know- the one that you’ve had sitting around since you made our Pear Cosmopolitan cocktail recipe.

Well, the moment has come to pull it back out.

The weather is starting to turn cool, but like me, you aren’t quite ready to give up on your favorite summer sipper: the Moscow Mule.

Enter the Pear Moscow Mule, a simple, refreshing cocktail that feels like fall in a copper mug. The pear vodka adds a mellow fruitiness that blends effortlessly with the zing of ginger beer and a squeeze of fresh lime. It’s crisp, slightly sweet, and just a little spicy—basically autumn in cocktail form.

And let’s not forget the garnish. A dehydrated pear slice floating on top or tucked on the side adds just the right amount of drama (and flavor), while a lime wheel keeps things zesty.

Perfect for a cozy night in, a casual dinner party, or sipping solo while flipping through your favorite fall recipe books.

Flavor Notes

The pear vodka brings soft, fruity notes that balance the bite of the ginger beer. Lime adds a bright citrus pop, cutting through the sweetness just enough to keep things crisp.

It’s the kind of drink that feels both cozy and refreshing—perfect for transitioning from fall to winter or anytime you’re craving a twist on a classic.

Cocktail Tools You’ll Want

Make it a Mocktail

No vodka? No problem. Replace the pear vodka with pear juice or pear nectar for a non-alcoholic version that still delivers on flavor.

Remember, despite the name, ginger beer does not have alcohol in it.

Serving Tip

This drink pairs beautifully with a charcuterie board loaded with brie, almonds, and fig jam—or just sip it while curled up with a blanket and a good book.

Want to elevate it for a fall gathering? Add a cinnamon stick as a stirrer or a sprig of rosemary for an herby aroma.

Optional Twists

  • Add a splash of pear nectar if you want it sweeter.
  • Use a cinnamon stick as a stirrer for a warming holiday vibe.
  • Swap the lime for lemon to shift the citrus profile slightly.

How to Make Dehydrated Pear Slices

To make your own dehydrated pear slices, thinly slice a ripe pear (about ⅛” thick) and arrange the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at your oven’s lowest temperature—ideally around 175°F (80°C)—for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway through. They should be dry but still slightly pliable.

Let them cool completely before using. Store extras in an airtight container for future cocktails or snacking.

If you have an air fryer with a dehydrating function (like this one that I have), it’s even easier to dehydrate your own cocktail garnishes.
