Some drinks just feel like golden hour. That warm, soft light before sunset, a breeze in the air, and something crisp in your glass.
Ok, well in California that is a lot of the year, but I still want a super easy drink to make when a friend or neighbor pops over.
And that’s exactly where the Orange Blossom Spritz comes in. It’s floral, citrusy, and just bubbly enough to make any moment feel a little more celebratory.

I first started playing with orange blossom syrup after an early spring overload of blooms on my orange trees. The scent was intoxicating—sweet, delicate, and totally unlike orange juice.
I knew I had to bottle that flavor and turn it into something worth sipping and I’m so glad I did.
I only made a few jars the first year, but you better believe I’ll be making a whole lot more orange blossom water and syrup come the spring when my orange trees are blooming once again.
Flavor Notes
This spritz is light and fragrant, with soft floral notes from the syrup balanced by crisp bubbles and a subtle citrus backbone. It’s not too sweet, not too dry—just a beautifully refreshing drink that’s easy to sip and hard to put down.
Just to let you know, this flavor is not for everyone. While I love orange blossom everything, my husband doesn’t want it anywhere near him. He’ll take rosemary and more savory herbs any day.
Tips & Twists
- Syrup matters: Make sure your orange blossom syrup is made with culinary orange blossom water (not just orange flavoring). You want that soft, perfumed note that makes this cocktail sing. This is not orange juice; it’s the blooms that come before the oranges that make the juice.
- Mocktail version: Skip the prosecco and use non-alcoholic sparkling wine or just add more soda water and a squeeze of lemon.
- Batch it: Hosting a group? Multiply the ingredients and serve it in a large pitcher over ice for a ready-to-pour signature cocktail.
