Cocktail Garnish

A good cocktail garnish isn’t just decoration. It’s the first thing people see, the first thing they smell, and it can actually change how a drink tastes.

I started making my own garnishes when I realized that sugared cranberries or a candied apple slice could turn a regular cocktail into something memorable.

These aren’t complicated techniques that require pastry chef skills. Most of these garnishes take 15 minutes or less and use ingredients you probably already have.

The garnishes here work across all seasons and cocktail recipes.

Sugared rosemary is perfect for winter cocktails, while candied persimmons add a sweet touch to autumn cocktails. I keep a few batches prepped in the fridge so I can elevate any drink without extra effort.

Whether you’re making cocktails for a party or just want your Friday night drink to feel special, these garnishes are worth the small amount of work.
