Looking for a cocktail that’s as beautiful as it is delicious? The Blueberry Lavender Sour is a vibrant, floral, and tangy drink that balances fruity sweetness with botanical depth.
Whether you make it with gin, vodka, or even bourbon, this sour is smooth and elegant, with layers of flavor that make it perfect for spring and summer sipping.

Happily, I have a few blueberry bushes in my side yard that have produced a lot of fruit this year. The bushes are only four years old, so I’m pretty surprised, but I’ll take it.
I was even able to freeze some for winter cocktails!
The blueberry syrup adds a jewel-toned color and fruity depth, while lavender syrup lends a delicate floral touch. Add in lemon juice for brightness, and you have a cocktail that feels refreshing yet refined.
If you’re using egg white or aquafaba, you’ll also get that silky, foamy top that makes every sip feel extra luxurious. Use an eyedropper to float a few drops of blueberry syrup on top of the foam for extra aromatics.

Twist Ideas
- Whiskey Sour Style: Swap the gin/vodka for bourbon or whiskey for a deeper, warmer version.
- Citrus Swap: Try lime juice instead of lemon for a slightly sharper, tarter flavor.
- Herbal Layer: Add a sprig of rosemary or thyme to the shaker for an earthy note.
- Fizzy Finish: Top with a splash of soda water for a lighter, more refreshing variation.
Why You’ll Love It
- Gorgeous Presentation: The rich purple hue and foamy top make it look like something from a craft cocktail bar.
- Versatile Spirits: Works beautifully with gin, vodka, or whiskey—so you can tailor it to your taste.
- Balanced Flavor: Fruity, floral, and citrusy all in one sip without being too sweet.
- Crowd-Pleaser: Elegant enough for a dinner party, but easy enough to shake up on a weeknight.
